Center For Independence (CFI) is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operated by people with disabilities, serving people with disabilities. We serve as a resource for individuals with disabilities to fully access and participate in the community. We are a growing team, with 10 team members throughout the Puget Sound. We are excited to add a new team member to our growing team!

We are seeking a Youth Transition Program Manager who is committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of youth with disabilities between Whatcom County and Snohomish County. Located mainly in the Greater Marysville area, this role provides an opportunity to positively support a range of our communities. In this role, you will work directly with individuals ages 14–24, supporting them in developing the skills, self-advocacy, and confidence needed to live independently and thrive in their communities.

Beyond direct support, you’ll play a key leadership role in shaping and delivering a dynamic Youth Transition Program, building community partnerships, engaging youth, and contributing to broader advocacy efforts that promote equity, access, and opportunity for all.

Highlighted Responsibilities

As the Youth Transition Program Manager, you will combine direct service, education, and program leadership to work closely with participants with developing individualized plans, facilitating skill-building opportunities, and creating meaningful connections within the community. You will support program coordination, partnerships, and advocacy efforts to ensure youth have equitable access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. Additionally, a few highlight responsibilities include:

●        Provide direct Independent Living services, including skills training, advocacy, peer support, and individualized planning while managing an active caseload

●        Facilitate workshops and deliver youth-centered curriculum in schools, partnering with educators and supporting students with IEPs and 504 plans

●        Lead program coordination efforts, including planning events, facilitating peer groups, and supporting staff, volunteers, and practicum students

●        Build and maintain community partnerships through outreach, coalition participation, and advocacy to advance access and equity for youth with disabilities

●        Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and compliance with program requirements, while actively contributing to a collaborative team environment

●        Direct supervision of Youth Transition Program coordinators and volunteers

 

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

●     Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred; equivalent lived and/or professional experience in disability communities may substitute for formal education.

●     Experience working with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

●     Demonstrated understanding of Independent Living philosophy and disability rights principles.

●     Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and learn client data management systems.

●     Ability to travel locally as needed, up to 100 miles to serve the community.

●     Located near Marysville, WA

 

Our Wish List (Preferred Qualifications)

●     Lived experience with a disability is highly valued.

●     Experience in case management, social services, youth development, or related fields.

●     Knowledge of ADA and disability-related systems.

●     Bilingual/multilingual skills.
