Faith Selga Brown (her/she)
Executive Director
Faith joined CFI as Executive Director in November 2024, bringing deep experience in nonprofit leadership, organizing, and organizational management, grounded in a professional background in accounting. As Executive Director, she serves as a steward of CFI’s mission, overseeing operations and financial integrity while guiding the strategic vision that drives the organization’s growth, sustainability, and impact.
Faith leads with a justice-centered approach, aligning policy, budgeting, and outcomes to advance equity across the systems CFI engages. She extends this leadership through board and community service with the Tacoma Public School Board, Washington State Historical Society, Tacoma Creates for the City of Tacoma, the Filipino American National Historical Society, Trinity Neighborhood Medical Clinic, and the Imagine Justice Project. She is a strong ally in advancing full justice and equity for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, migrant and immigrant communities.
Faith lives in the South Sound with her husband and growing family and is a proud peer within the Independent Living Movement.
Janice Freeman (she/her) Human Resources Manager / Independent Living Coordinator (Lakewood)
Janice has an extensive background working with people to access housing and emergency shelters. She works with participants primarily in our Pathways to Community Living program helping them transition into stable housing. Janice is an advocate when it comes to fair housing rights and helps participants navigate all the complexities that come with applying for community resources and benefits. She also works with referrals from the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and provides independent living skills training.
Alea Camacho (she/her) Veteran Directed Care Program Manager (Lakewood)
Alea works primarily with our veteran participants, whether they are part of the VDC program or Neuro-Rehab program. She was raised in a military family and grew up in Guam. After moving to Washington for college she grew a passion for helping people. She is also a spouse of a veteran and enjoys getting to know people from all walks of life. Alea also has experience working in the public schools and enjoys supporting youth with disabilities.
Jeff Liggett (he/him) Veteran Directed Care Coordinator to Programs Coordinator (Lakewood)
Jeff is a Veteran Directed Care Specialist with an extensive Air Force military background of over 16 years. He is originally from the Pacific Northwest and grew up in Portland, Oregon. His compassion and advocacy for veterans is why he tirelessly gives back to his community. He currently holds an Associate’s Degree in Health Information Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management. Additionally, he is an Honors Society alumni through Phi Theta Kappa. Lastly, he lives in the South Sound with his loving wife and his 2 older children.
Toni Bremon Ansen (They/Them) I&R Specialist (Lakewood)
Toni joined CFI in June 2025. Their experiences with other non-profit organizations brought them here where they are finding their place in the bigger picture. Toni is allied with LGBTQIA2S+, BIPOC, and the unhoused communities and carries the passion of advocacy everywhere they go.
North Sound Team - (North Office)
Matt Hertzog (he/his)
Senior Manager of Programs and Operations, BASW (North Sound Team)
Matt is the Senior Manager of Programs and Operations in the Marysville office. He is a Marine veteran who discovered his true calling in social work through moments of connection and advocacy while serving others in crisis. His work is rooted in the belief that every person deserves access to the tools and support necessary to live independently and with dignity. Passionate about housing stability, public benefit navigation, and neurodiversity-informed support, Matt advocates for inclusive systems that honor self-determination and equity. He is especially committed to uplifting veterans, people with disabilities, and underserved communities through person-centered, trauma-informed practice.
Owen Taylor (he/his)
Graphic Design Lead / Independent Living Coordinator (North Sound Team)
Owen Taylor serves as a Lead Graphic Designer for CFI and an IL Coordinator at the Marysville Office, where he is committed to supporting the disability community with humility and respect. With a rich professional background, Owen has garnered extensive experience in disability advocacy, volunteering for over ten years with the Washington State Youth Leadership Forum, under the oversight of the Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues and Employment. Throughout his education, he actively engaged in student disability advocacy at various institutions, including Edmonds College, the University of Washington, and Oregon State University. In addition to his advocacy work, Owen enjoys applying his creative talents at CFI. He holds three degrees in the arts: an Associate degree in Visual Arts from Edmonds College, a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary visual arts from the University of Washington, where he also completed a minor in Disability Studies, and another bachelor's degree in graphic design from Oregon State University. Owen grew up in Western Washington and lives in the North Sound with his wife and cat.
