Center For Independence (CFI) is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operated by people with disabilities, serving people with disabilities. We serve as a resource for individuals with disabilities to fully access and participate in the community. We are a growing team, with 10 team members throughout the Puget Sound. We are excited to add a new team member to our growing team!

We are seeking a Youth Transition Program Coordinator who is committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of youth with disabilities between Whatcom County and Snohomish County. Located mainly in the Greater Marysville area, this role provides an opportunity to positively support a range of our communities. In this role, you will provide direct Independent Living services, partner with participants to identify goals, and connect them to meaningful resources within the community. This position plays a key role in empowering individuals through advocacy, skill-building, and ongoing support, while also contributing to outreach efforts that expand access to services.

Highlighted Responsibilities

As the Youth Transition Program Coordinator, you will work directly with individuals with disabilities to support their independence through personalized services, advocacy, and connection to community resources. Your day-to-day work will include meeting with participants, helping them set and achieve meaningful goals, and providing guidance as they navigate systems and services. You’ll also support outreach efforts and maintain documentation, all while building strong, trust-based relationships that empower individuals to live more independently. Additionally, a few highlight responsibilities include:

●     Provide Independent Living services, including skills training, participant intakes, needs assessments, and information and referral support

●     Partner with participants to develop individualized Independent Living plans and support self-advocacy, independence, and goal achievement

●     Assist participants in identifying, accessing, and navigating community resources and services

●     Maintain accurate participant records, document services and progress, and participate in staff meetings and trainings

●     Support outreach and community engagement efforts, including building partnerships, assisting with presentations, and increasing awareness of services

 

 

What We Are Looking For (Requirements)

●     Associate’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field OR a combination of education and relevant experience

●     1+ years of experience working with individuals with disabilities, or in human services

●     Experience working with diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

●     Demonstrated understanding of Independent Living philosophy and disability rights principles.

●     Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and learn client data management systems.

●     Ability to travel locally as needed, up to 100 miles to serve the community.

●     Located near Marysville, WA

 

Our Wish List (Preferred Qualifications)

●     Lived experience with a disability is highly valued.

●     Experience in case management, social services, youth development, or related fields.

●     Knowledge of ADA and disability-related systems.

●     Bilingual/multilingual skills.
